Crowded Teeth
This problem occurs when there is simply not enough room within your jaw to accommodate all of your teeth.
Crowded teeth are more difficult to clean. They provide all kinds of nooks and crannies for food and bacteria to hide. Because of this there is a greater chance of tooth decay, often on unusual areas of the teeth, which are more difficult to treat. There is also an increase in the incidence of periodontal (gum) disease.
Finally, crowded teeth prevent your upper and lower jaws from meshing properly, leading to accelerated wear of teeth and jaw joint problems.
This case of crowding was treated in seven months with Invisalign.
